EID MUBARAK CELEBRATING TOGETHER WITH THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY, UniSZA

eid2International Affairs Section, Corporate Communications and International Unit (CCIU) had organized the first Eid Mubarak Celebration Together with the international community, UniSZA. The celebration was held on 14th July 2016 at Laman Selera, Gong Badak Campus, UniSZA.

The objectives of the celebration are to share the culture and values of Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrated by the local people to the international community as well as to strengthen the bond and relationship between them. On top of that, this celebration is a conjunction with the Mobility Programme Inbound Summer Camp 2016 organised by the International Affairs Section where 11 participants from Kazakhstan that are involved in the programme were welcomed to UniSZA.

The ceremony commenced by Dr Mutia Sobihah opening speech, Director of the Corporate Communication and International Units followed by the Mobility Programme and Eid Mubarak Celebration photography sessions.

In general, the celebration was successfully able to provide the exposure of Hari Raya Celebration by the local people to the international community. Hopefully, this kind of festive celebration will be continued in the future to create the harmonious environment and strengthen the unity between diverse cultures.

A DAY WITH INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

intec1KUALA TERENGGANU - International Affairs Section, Corporate Communications and International Unit had organized “A Day with International Students” programme which was held on 13th October 2015 at the Auditorium Hall, UniSZA Library, Gong Badak Campus.

The programme targeted all international students who are studying in UniSZA. The objectives of this programme are to welcome new students and celebrate those students who will be graduating or who have graduated. Additionally, this programme also aimed to enhance students’ knowledge and understanding on how student pass procedures being implemented in UniSZA. Besides, this programme provided detail explanation about students insurance and which served them all with benefit and advantages.

The ceremony was officiated by Mr Anuar, Head of International Affairs Section followed by the briefing on student pass delivered by Mrs Siti Maliani bt Abdullah, Assistant Registrar of International Affairs Section. After that, the programme was continued by the present of 3 representatives from the insurance company, and the briefing on insurance was done by Mr Arman bin Kasmuri, Assistant Vice President, Employee Benefit Department of Takaful Ikhlas Sdn Bhd. At the end of the programme students got the chance to win the lucky draw prize.

Overall, the outcome of the programme was good, providing great exposure to the international students in terms of student pass process and insurance policy. Hopefully, other programmes like this will continue to get full support from the university management in the future.

MALAY LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY TEST FOR FOREIGN STUDENTS - OPEN FOR REGISTRATION 7TH-15TH SEPTEMBER 2015

Please be informed that all international students are required to take the Malay Language Proficiency Test on 10th October 2015. The fee for the test is RM 200.00, payable to Bendahari UniSZA (Account no. 13017010080939). Students must register for the test at International Affairs, Corporate Communications & International Unit located at Block B UniSZA, Gong Badak Campus.

ENGLISH MOBILITY PROGRAMME 2015

mobility1KUALA TERENGGANU - The International Affairs Section, Corporate Communications and International Unit (CCIU) organised the English Mobility Programme which was held from 24th July 2015 – 19th August 2015.

The 16 students who participated in this mobility programme came from various Universities in Kazakhstan including Kazakh National Agrarian University, Egyptian University of Islamic Culture Nur-Mubarak and Almaty Technological University. The main objective of the program is to enhance and increase English skills among the participants.

Two main activities carried out during the program were in-class learning and off-campus activities. In class activities included basic learning skills such listening, speaking, public speaking and writing & grammar. Meanwhile, in order to expose students the culture and history, as well as to introduce interesting places in Terengganu, they were taken to visit the Islamic Edutainment Park (TTI) and River Cruise, Setiu Wetland & Terrapuri Resort, Kenyir Jungle Walk and a weekend getaway to Kapas Island. 

The closing ceremony was held on the 18th of August 2015, at the Residential College Foyer UniSZA (Gong Badak Campus) and officiated by Prof. Dr. Mahadzirah binti Mohamad, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic & International). The Kazakhstan delegation performed their national song, traditional dances and read several poems during the ceremony.

Overall, the outcome of the programme was good, providing great exposure to the Kazakh students in theory and practice. Hopefully, other mobility programmes like this will continue to get full support from the university management in the future. This programme shows a very positive impact as two students from the mobility programme have already applied to continue their Master studies at UniSZA.
