KUALA TERENGGANU - The International Affairs Section, Corporate Communications and International Unit (CCIU) organised the English Mobility Programme which was held from 24th July 2015 – 19th August 2015.
The 16 students who participated in this mobility programme came from various Universities in Kazakhstan including Kazakh National Agrarian University, Egyptian University of Islamic Culture Nur-Mubarak and Almaty Technological University. The main objective of the program is to enhance and increase English skills among the participants.
Two main activities carried out during the program were in-class learning and off-campus activities. In class activities included basic learning skills such listening, speaking, public speaking and writing & grammar. Meanwhile, in order to expose students the culture and history, as well as to introduce interesting places in Terengganu, they were taken to visit the Islamic Edutainment Park (TTI) and River Cruise, Setiu Wetland & Terrapuri Resort, Kenyir Jungle Walk and a weekend getaway to Kapas Island.
The closing ceremony was held on the 18th of August 2015, at the Residential College Foyer UniSZA (Gong Badak Campus) and officiated by Prof. Dr. Mahadzirah binti Mohamad, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic & International). The Kazakhstan delegation performed their national song, traditional dances and read several poems during the ceremony.
Overall, the outcome of the programme was good, providing great exposure to the Kazakh students in theory and practice. Hopefully, other mobility programmes like this will continue to get full support from the university management in the future. This programme shows a very positive impact as two students from the mobility programme have already applied to continue their Master studies at UniSZA.
